Things I have accomplished today
Ranting for half an hour to ornamentedembellished about my utter hatred for “folksonomies” as a legitimate form of information organization. Library catalogs now giving a space for patrons to “tag” items however they want? HAVE FUN NEVER FINDING ANYTHING AGAIN.
I’m glad bookh8r went to school for two years so that any jackass could (metaphorically) walk into a library catalog and tag something however the fuck they think it should be organized. GRANTED, it will give academics something to write about in 5-20 years and will be such a totally fascinating look into the daily life of the average person in a certain place at a certain time in history (we don’t have any social media outlets like Facebook or Twitter archived for those purposes), but in the meantime, fuck you.
